Harold B. "Jack" Richardson, 91, of Kansas City, KS, passed away February 8, 2015. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home, 105 E. Loula St. Olathe, KS 66061. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 12, 2015 at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home. Burial with military honors in Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Olathe. Jack will forever be remembered as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. Jack was a kindhearted, fun-loving man. All who knew him would describe him as funny, caring, supportive and strong. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be missed dearly.
Harold was born September 5, 1923 in Owosso City, Michigan to Harold B. and Virginia (Morenc) Richardson. Jack served his country proudly in the United States Navy for three years from 1942-1945. After being honorably discharged as an aviation machinist he later went to work as a superintendent for Texas Industries Inc. (TXI) and retired after 25 years of service.
He enjoyed helping and spending time with his family and friends, fishing, coaching basketball, softball,volleyball, golfing and traveling. Through the years, Jack was active in various organizations including the American Legion and the VFW.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife and best friend, Betty L. (Gillihan) Richardson in 2003, daughters, Jamey Moore, Becky Richardson and brother, James Richardson.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Cheryl Loveall. Jack was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Brandy (Darren) Brock, Amy (Joey) Reardon, Jay Loveall, Brad (Georgia) Manis, and Lacy (Ben) Hartley;12 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren with 2 more on the way.
