Deborah Elaine (Debi) Howard (Burnett) was born to Darlene (Crosby) and Billy Gayle Burnett in Miami, OK on August 4th, 1953. She died of natural causes in her home on June 3rd, 2016. Debi will be fondly remembered as a wife, mom, grandma, and best friend.
She was an Olathe High School graduate of 1971 and spent most of her life in Olathe. Debi attended Pittsburgh State for one year, where she learned the fine art of cooking popcorn in a wok. She worked as a clerk at ADM Milling for 27 years.
Debi’s special interests included long rides on the Harley Davidson, short rides in her VW Bug, traveling with her husband, getting some fresh ink, making food so spicy that no one else could eat it, reading frightening books to keep her up all hours of the night, spoiling her grandchildren, attending countless school and sporting events, and “being lazy” in her Budweiser t-shirt. She always had a smile, a joke, and an open door for everyone. She loved life and loved her family.
Debi is survived by her husband Mark Howard of Olathe KS, her mother-in-law Mary Ellen Howard of Overland Park KS, her son Joshua Cumley and wife Sally of Olathe KS, her son Micheal Eastland and wife Julie of Lenexa, KS and her grandkids Margo, Alana, Adam, and Jacob. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Kent R.L. Burnett and Randy Gayle Burnett of Olathe, KS.
Arrangements under the direction of McGilley & Frye Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Olathe, KS.
