Christopher Elliott Thompkins

Christopher was born on October 22, 1977 in San Diego California to Yvonne R. Armstrong and Thomas L. Thompkins. Chris was a happy go lucky kind of guy, who was an inspiration to so many people. He graduated from the Olathe School District. His last position was with the Johnson County Developmental supports for 22 years where he left an lasting impression on so many people. Chris enjoyed interacting with staff and his peers at JCDS and enjoyed his time doing activities and going on many outings. He loved to listen to music and attend church. Nothing gave him more pleasure than being with family, especially spending time with his nephews and nieces.

Chris was a previous member of St. Luke Church of God and Christ Olathe, Kansas and was a current member of his grandmothers church Reaching Out For Souls Gardner, Kansas. He was truly loved by so many and will be sadly missed.

Christopher is preceded in death by his Mother, Yvonne Renia Armstrong who passed away in July 2017. He is survived by his brother and sister in law Richmond and Meghan Armstrong of Olathe Kansas, and brother Abdullah “Bazz” Armstrong of Shawnee Kansas. His Uncle William Armstrong, and grandmother Kathryn Miller of Olathe Kansas. Left behind to cherish is memory are his nieces and nephews, Ryssa Armstrong-Brown, Ryland Armstrong, Reece Armstrong, Reagynn Armstrong, Romynn Armstrong, Nikolai Armstrong and Israel Armstrong. Along with many Aunts and Uncles and a slew of cousins.

"Celebration of Life" 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, January 8, 2022 at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula Street Olathe, Kansas. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service. A private Family Inurnment will take place at a later date.
