Arthur was born on June 29, 1947. He graduated in 1965 from Osawatomie High School. He and Donna Allcorn married in 1968 and spent over 50 years together. He was a cabinet builder, carpenter and loved working with wood. He was forced into early retirement with the crash of 2008 when construction came to an end. At that time he worked for A.J. Lang properties, then the American Red Cross, delivering blood to local hospitals.
Art loved sitting in his little shed day after day, looking out at the birds and having all of his things around him, like his John Wayne memorabilia and so much more. He and Donna traveled to Colorado, Bahamas and a few places, but their heart was always drawn to Jasper Ark, where they would stay in a nice cabin and enjoy sitting, drinking coffee and looking at the beautiful mountains. They were blessed with three children and five grandchildren, who were such a wonderful part of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Atheta Andrews; grandparents; one brother, John; and his beloved dog, Rags.
He is survived by his wife Donna; sons Curtis (Michelle) of Kansas City, KS and Kevin of Olathe, KS; daughter Angie (John) David of Lenexa, KS; grandchildren Raven (Rob) of Claycomo, Devin Andrews (Lauren) of Overland Park, Riley David, Ellie David and Brody David of Lenexa, KS; and one great-grandson Logan.
He will be cremated according to his wishes and the family will honor him with a Celebration of Life at a future date. Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to the family.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.McGilley-Frye.com for the Andrews family.
