Formally named Anna May Davidson, she was born on May 7, 1935, in Horton, KS, to Dorothy and James Davidson and was raised on a family farm in Netawaka, KS. She graduated from Wetmore High School in 1953. She married Floyd E. Meier (from Holton, KS) on February 19, 1954, in Topeka, KS and was married to him for 48 years (he preceded her in death in 2002). While living in Topeka, she worked briefly for the Federal Government. She and her family then moved to Kansas City, KS in 1963, to Ottawa, KS in 1969 and then to a farm in Williamsburg, KS in 1975. During that time, and for over 20 years she sold Kitchen Kraft cookware and won many sales achievement awards for her top sales volume. She then pursued a second career that lasted nearly 20 years, making and selling homemade arts and crafts. She gave sacrificially of herself to care for all five of her children, especially her dearly-beloved daughter Debbie, who had Cerebral Palsy and couldn’t walk or talk. Debbie, the oldest of her five children, died in 2004 at age 48.
Other surviving children (in birth order) include Dean Meier and spouse (Jeanette), Parkville, MO; Dottie Blake and spouse (Joe), Garnett, KS; Doug Meier, Ottawa, KS; and Dan Meier, Waverly, KS. In addition, Ann was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Life Assembly of God, 300 W Park RD, Garnett, KS 66032
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Life Assembly of God, Garnett.
Burial will follow at the Princeton Cemetery in Princeton, KS.
