Shirley was born on September 11, 1938, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was the daughter of Richard and Laura Sparks. She grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Capitol Hills High School. With her husband Charlie, they raised three sons.
She was a dedicated mother, housewife and bookkeeper for her husband’s concrete company. She also worked at Fairgrounds Speedway and served as a volunteer poll worker during elections. Later in life, she found her most favored work at the The Baptist Mission Homeless Shelter, where she enjoyed helping others.
Shirley was a member of Kelham Baptist Church and will be remembered for her generous ways.
She is survived by her three sons Melton Smith, Scott Smith, Todd Smith and daughter in law Julie Smith, grandchildren Shane Smith, Shelby Smith and Dareck Smith and great grandchildren Beckett Smith and Cooper Smith. She was predeceased by her husband Charlie Smith in 1998.
Funeral services / graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Advantage Funeral Service Chapel at 10:00 a.m. with interment at the Sunny Lane Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service-South Chapel, 7720 South Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73159.
