His class was always fun with the classical music, chess boards, and his elegant cursive writing on the chalkboard. 
He's always been one of my favorite teachers. I wish the best for his family and friends. 

Rest in peace, Mr. Black.

Saddens me to lose an old friend.  Knew Rex when we were young men in college.  We had many laughs.   His mon, dad, and his aunt Thelma always treated me with great kindness.   Loved his mom's pickled okra!  Wish his wife Cynthia and his son Christopher only the best. God be with you Rex.

Mr Black was my teacher at Country Estates, way back in 1982.  I’m in my 50s and still remember him. You have to be a pretty special person for people to still have you in mind after all that time, and he really was. 

Mr.Black was my favorite teacher , I will definately miss him.
 He did alot for his students, I like to think that all his former students are better people for having known him he's gone but not forgotten


School was not something I ever enjoyed as a child, but I did enjoy Mr. Black’s class. Mr. Black was my fourth grade teacher and helped me learn to play chess. I appreciate his patience and love he had for his students. I’m keeping Mr. Black’s family in my prayers.

I am so sorry to hear of Rex's passing from this earth.  He was such a wonderful man.  He truly enjoyed teaching and his dog.  He was always thinking about others and reconnecting with his students.

Mr.Black was my favorite teacher and I am very heart broken 💔 to learn of his passing  rest in peace  Mr.Black.
