Penny Lynn Patterson left this world surrounded by family on June 29, 2021, after a hard fought battle with cancer. Penny was born in Oklahoma City on July 14, 1965 to Frank and Nila (Krick) Patterson.
Penny was a graduate of Putnam City West, Class of 1983. She made her home in Seattle, Washington for 17 years. Penny returned to Oklahoma City in 2010, and became employed with Hobby Lobby Distribution Center. Later, she was called to care for her ailing father and devoted two years to his care. She became employed with Claims Management Resources (CMR), where she worked as an insurance specialist until her death.
Family was everything to Penny. She especially loved spending time with her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Penny could always be found at one of their activities.
In the summertime, you could find Penny hanging out in the pool. She loved being outside and the summer months could never be too hot.
Her parents preceded Penny in death. She is survived by her brothers and their spouses: Nick and Jo Ann Patterson of Edmond, Rob and SuzAnne Patterson of Oklahoma City, Mike and Toni Patterson of Oklahoma City and Scott and Lynn Patterson of Bethany. Also surviving are nieces and nephews: Jennifer (Michael) Levine, Nicholas Patterson, Connor Patterson, Tony Patterson, Cari Patterson, Nicole (Chris) Wright, Michael (Jenny) Patterson, Jake Patterson, Dillon Patterson, Dean (Melanie) Patterson and Kyle (DJ) Sanchez, nine great-nieces and nephews, as well as many friends who were like family, and last but not least, Penny’s fur baby, Stanley.
A very heartfelt thank you to the nurses at Mercy Hospice who lovingly cared for Penny during her last few weeks of life.
A service to celebrate Penny’s life will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
