Norman Leon Fletcher

Norman Leon Fletcher, 86, went to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at his home in Blanchard, OK with the love of his life by his side. The son of Arthur & Violet (Holland) Fletcher, he was born on October 31, 1936 in Boswell, OK.

On August 20, 1954, a few months after graduating from Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City he married his high school sweetheart Edna June Blackwood at Southwest Friendship Baptist Church. They spent 69 years together and had 3 sons. Norman grew up loving sports and the outdoors and was an avid hunter, golfer, gardener, fisherman, and loved camping. He enjoyed watching sports and especially followed the Oklahoma college football teams. He was a Deacon and active member of the Brookwood Baptist Church. During his life he was a store manager for Humpty Dumpty, a Dolly Madison deliveryman, and a Frito-Lay route salesman.

He was a strong Christian, devoted family man and always welcomed time with family and friends. His infectious smile, gentle nature, and reserved sense of humor made him very loveable and likeable. He was one to let his actions speak louder than his words and will always be remembered for his honesty and integrity.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Lois, and his brother Phillip Terry. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Edna June, his three sons and their families: Dale and Marsha Fletcher of Choctaw, OK, Rick and Glenda Fletcher of Yukon, OK, and Gary and Terace of San Antonio, TX, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, his three sisters-in-law, and many, many extended family and friends.

A visitation for Norman will be held Friday, October 13, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service-South Chapel, 7720 South Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73159. A memorial service will occur Monday, October 16, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Brookwood Baptist Church, 8921 S. Walker Ave, OKC, OK 73139.
