Norma Louise (White) Bridges, 83, of Norman, Oklahoma passed peacefully from this life on Friday, September 4, 2020. Services have been entrusted to the care of Advantage Funeral Service. A visitation has been scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 12:00pm-7:00pm, at Advantage Funeral Service. The Bridges Family will be greeting friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm the evening of visitation. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 10:00am at Advantage Funeral Service, 7720 S. Penn Ave, OKC, OK 73159.
Norma Louise (White) Bridges was born on February 2, 1937 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Luther Joseph White and Jewel Ida (Dyer) White. She grew up on a farm in rural Oklahoma with her older half-brother, Jack Sallee. Norma attended high-school in Oklahoma City.
At the age of 23, she met her husband, Billy Ray Bridges, and they were married in the year of 1959. Together, they raised one son, Randal Bridges. They were a family of three up until July 20, 1964, when Billy passed away. Norma continued on after his death, working at Capitol Hill Floral Shop, and doing janitorial work at the State Hospital to provide for herself and her son. The last, and most enjoyable job that Norma did, was being an adult caretaker for DHS. After she left the workforce, Norma spent majority of her time doing what she loved-shopping. She made many trips to the thrift store (often, dragging family members along!). By far, her most favorite type of shopping was browsing real estate. Big, small, old, or new-Norma would book a viewing for the mostly likely out of budget home, and imagine it as her own. Those that knew her, would say that Norma had a great sense of humor. She also liked dogs; sometimes more than people.
Norma is survived by son Randal Bridges (Cindy) of Noble, Oklahoma; grandchild Melanie Russow (Kris), grandchild Kayla Taylor (Dustin), grandchild Randal Bridges Jr. (Katie), grandchild Rebecca Jones (Chance), great grandchild Zoe Russow, great grandchild Vivica Russow, great grandchild Laynie Russow, great grandchild Kyle Taylor, great grandchild Ryan Taylor, great grandchild Eli Bridges, great grandchild Holsten Bridges and great great grandchild Robin Russow.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband Billy Ray Bridges; father Luther Joseph White; mother Jewel Ida (Dyer) White and half-brother Jack Sallee.
