Mildred "Tookie" Ann (Harris) Fosenburg, age 88, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022. Tookie was born December 2, 1933 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A come & go visitation for Tookie will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service-South Chapel, 7720 South Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73159. A funeral service will occur Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Oak Crest Church of Christ, 1111 SW 89th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73139.

Mildred Ann (Harris) Fosenburg, 88, left this life to be with her Lord, April 30, 2022. She died at her home of 7 years at Summerset Neighborhood in Oklahoma City, OK. She was the widow of John Richard 'Dick' Fosenburg. They were married 26 years before his death in 2012. She outlived her first husband and father of her 5 children, Robert E. Phillips. She was known as Millie to her friends and Tookie to her family.

She was born in 1933 to George B. Harris and Mary L. (Gay) Harris in Oklahoma City, OK, the youngest of 5 children. She attended Capitol Hill High School, received the Home Economics Clothing award her Senior year and graduated in 1952. She earned an Associates Degree in OKCCC in Occupational Therapy while working full-time and raising 3 teenagers. She has worked many jobs but had always wanted to see America. Millie and J.R. 'Dick' Fosenburg, a single cross country truck driver with 2 children, met at a Singles Dance one Saturday night in 1985. He was looking for a co-driver. She decided it was something she could do and went to the Truck Driving School in Ft. Scott, Kansas, graduated and passed the Commercial Driving License Tests. They married in 1986 and became a team and began a 15 year trip across this great country. After retiring from driving, Millie went to work part-time at the Oklahoma Tax Commission until retiring at 80 years old in 2014.

Millie was a long time, devoted member of the Church of Christ. She loved to read, sew, and do Word Search puzzles. She always had the Game Show network on the television when you came to visit. She loved her friends at Summerset Neighborhood and always had dominos and card games ready to play. She was always calm and had a good word and a smile for everyone she met. She was well known for making a dessert called Kitchen Klatter for every dinner her family attended and usually by request. Show up at her house on a Saturday morning and you would be treated to the best waffles or biscuits on the planet and all from scratch.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George B. and Mary L. Harris, spouses, Robert and J.R., brother, Burl Harris, Sisters, Betty Jane Harris and Mary Ellen Brown, sister-in-law, Lynette Harris, daughter, Charlotte Ann Phillips, daughter-in-law, Sally Phillips, niece, Jimmie Lynn Harris, grandchildren, James W. Keesee and Kylie B. Newey and special friends, Hubert and Mary Plumlee.

She leaves behind a brother, James Harris, children, Elizabeth and Andrew Houston, Mark Phillips, Serena and Kevin Combs, Paul and Rena Phillips, step-children, Kelly and Scott Smelser, Mark and Rhonda Fosenburg, 19 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family members, friends and her church family at Grand Boulevard Church of Christ.

Our thanks to the staff of Summerset Neighborhood for their undying devotions to her and kindness to her family and us during her 7 year stay. Our thanks also to the nurses on Pod H, 2nd Floor, Case manager Champella and staff at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital-South for their care of our mother, the kindness and friendliness to us, her kids, grandkids and great grand kids that came to see and tell her goodbye during the 10 days of her final struggle. Our forever thanks to her Doctors and their staff who answered more than just questions and were always honest and caring to us and her: Dr. Naeem Tahirkheli, DR. Fazal Ali. We must remember her Primary Care DR. Todd Clapp, who sent her to the specialists when he knew she needed more than he could give and his assistance in getting the paperwork done so she could go to Summerset Neighborhood.
