Mary was born in Kansas City in 1930. Her family then moved to Oklahoma City in 1939. After she graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City in 1947, she graduated from Christian College in Missouri in 1949. She then returned to Oklahoma City, where she lived the rest of her life.
Following a brief secretarial career, and marrying the love of her life, Robert Baxter, in 1952; she began new vocations of homemaker and mother of three children, Margaret, Robert Il, and William.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ozella Taylor (1990) and Kenneth Taylor (1994), both of Oklahoma City; her husband of forty-two years, Robert (1996), of the home; her oldest son, Robert II (2016), of Austin, Texas; and her brother, Don (2023), of Lebanon,
Tennessee.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Jimmy Dyer, granddaughter Laura Dyer, and grandsons Jimmy Dyer Jr. and Matt Dyer, all of Oklahoma City; son-in-law Maurice Walker III, of Austin, Texas; and her youngest son, William, of Oklahoma City.
As a devoted wife, skilled homemaker, and loving mother, she had no equal. She was always there for her family; quick with hugs, encouraging words or advice, the metaphorical, shoulder to cry on or ear to just listen.
Her smile could light up a room and her laughter was infectious; her kindness, patience and compassion were unsurpassed. Her passing has created a most profound loss to all who knew and loved her.
