MaryAnn Barnes of Oklahoma City, OK passed on September 19, 2017 at the age of 79. She was born on April 4, 1938 in Los Angeles, CA to the union of Edward and Josephine (Anderson) Simms. MaryAnn was an only child and always wanted a large family so when she married the love of her life, Carl Barnes, they had five children, whom she stayed home to care for. Carl and MaryAnn where married for 60 years. Some of her hobbies were gardening of vegetables and flowers, photography, scrap booking, crocheting, knitting, and sewing. She made many quilts for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. MaryAnn was crafty, ingenious, and simple. She was a selfless person who was always looking for the positive in every situation. She was a faithful Jehovah’s Witness, for over 58 years, which was very important to her. She loved her family and enjoyed taking family pictures. MaryAnn was preceded in death by her parents; aunt and uncle, Bill and Marge Claudine. She is survived by her husband, Carl; children, Cary and wife Lucina; David and wife Kathy; Michael and wife Karen; Peter; and Rene and husband Chris Bullard. Grandchildren, Leslie Westervelt and husband Craig; Jeremy Barnes and wife Serena; Westen Barnes; Jessica Wolfe and husband Phil; Aaron Barnes and wife Christina; Anthoney Worthy; Joseph Wittington; Stormy Damerian; Summer Barnes; Nacona Ritchie; Samantha Langford and husband John; Stefanie Walker and husband Donny; Caleb and Kyle Bullard; 28 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 5100 S. Haddie St., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
