Loretta M. Finchum

Loretta M. Finchum, age 85 passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Loretta was born on November 4, 1938 in Jones, Oklahoma to Omer Franklin Allen and Phyllis Ann (Harper) Allen. She grew up in Jones, OK with 3 siblings, and graduated from Jones High School in 1956. She married the love of her life, Junior L. Finchum, that same year. They had met at a dance when Loretta was 15. They were together for 61 years until his passing in 2017.

Loretta was a wonderful homemaker for her family. She was a fantastic cook who would make everything from scratch. She worked at Bethel Christian Center School for 4 years as a cook. She also had an artistic side and loved sewing, quilting, and crocheting. She loved to be outside, feeding the birds and working in her garden. Her favorite thing to do, though, was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Omer and Phyllis Allen; husband Junior L. Finchum; two brothers, Ronnie Allen and Frank Allen; and grandson Christopher Finchum.

She is survived by her four children, Rebecca McCurdy (husband Guy), Randy Finchum (wife Nena), Katrina Dittrich (husband Jerry), and Bryan Finchum (wife Renee); sister Gloria Schick; grandchildren Joshua Gray (wife Candace), Sterling Finchum (wife Sammi), Terrence Finchum (wife Brooke), Brandi Jones (husband Stephen), Dart Finchum (wife Tiffani), Kaelen Finchum, and Amber Gray (husband Triston); and great-grandchildren Andy, Isabella, Alissa, Leighton, Heighlon, Bellamir, Art, and Everlyn.

A visitation for Loretta will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A graveside service will occur Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Jones IOOF Cemetery, 8136 N. Hiwassee Rd., Jones, OK 73049.
