Lloyd finished his earthly journey on April 19, 2013 and then entered his eternal home with Jesus. He was born in Temple, Oklahoma on November 14, 1927 to Lloyd and Mary Love. Lloyd grew up in the Minco-Pocasset area and graduated from Pocasset High School where he began dating LaVerne. They were married in 1949 and had two beautiful daughters. He also drove a school bus his senior year. He had a lot of memories of getting the children to and from school, like getting a farmer to use his tractor to pull the bus out of the mud. He worked at Black Sivalls and Bryson (BS & B) for 24 years and enjoyed playing on the company baseball team. He retired in 1993 while employed by Seagate. Lloyd received his salesman real estate license and sold houses for a builder and then a broker’s license and worked for himself until his eyesight prevented him from continuing. He was a charter member of Springdale Baptist Church in Oklahoma City where he has served as a deacon since 1965 and taught a boys’ Sunday school class for about 28 years. He loved the church, the people and the singing. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Home Lloyd Love and Mary Reisman Love; infant son Jimmy Lloyd Love; Brothers Homer Love and William Leroy Love; and Sisters Juanita Cwalinski and Oleta Woodworth. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, LaVerne Love; daughters Pam Scott and husband Lloyd of Oklahoma City and Diana Smith and husband Gary of Oklahoma City; granddaughter Julie McConnell and husband Eric of Irving, Texas and grandson Adam Smith of Oklahoma City. Thank you to the workers at Tuscany Village. We were blessed at Mercy for the wonderful care they gave him. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 24th at Springdale Baptist Church with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Minco, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held 8a – 8p Tuesday at Guardian West Funeral Home. Contributions may be made in Lloyd’s memory to Baptist Children’s Home or Springdale Baptist Church, 3900 NW 50th Street, Oklahoma City.
