We are assembled here today to celebrate the life of Judy Burrows-Usher. Beautiful Judy was an amazing woman, born on January 18th 1948 in Pasadena, CA to Bonnie Bell Callaway and Lionel Sidney Burrows. Her father joined the Air Force and when Judy was about four, the family made their first move as military dependents to Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, Alabama for three years. She started second grade in Coalgate, Oklahoma where the family waited to join her father in Japan for two and a half years. They came back to the states and moved to Grand Prairie, Texas for a year and then to Indian Springs AFB, Nevada for two years. Then it was off to Athens, Greece for two and a half years. The last move was to Otis AFB, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod for a year and a half where Judy was a majorette at Bourne High School. In 1965, her father died and the family moved to Midwest City, Oklahoma for her senior year. Judy graduated in 1966 from Midwest City H.S. then spent a year at OSU before meeting Scott Usher and marrying in August 1967. In February of 1968 Judy gave birth to her only child, Richard Scott Usher, Jr. Judy completed her lineage in October 1990 with the birth of her grandson Devin Usher. Judy had a heart of gold and a spirit of a Phoenix. Judy was very intelligent and dedicated to everything she did. Judy started her life as a musketeer and she excelled to the top of every company she was employed making many lifelong friends along the way. As a young woman in the 1980s, she fought hard to compete with men becoming a very successful woman. She was a rich lady many times over. Although she gave birth to only one child, her little “Richie”, she was a mother to many more. She was a role model to hundreds. She always saw the good in people and definitely gave you advice on how to improve yourself to be a better person. Judy was a best friend to many and made thousands of wonderful memories. Judy was active in sports such as golf and co-ed softball. Whenever you called Judy, she was always there to listen and help. Judy constantly put her family first with an open door and heart. She lived her life with integrity and compassion – something for all of us to live up to. She was forever up for a celebration and spending time with people dear to her. Judy joins her parents and her brother Joe Burrows in heaven, and is survived by one sister, Ann Aldrich, her son and his wife Richard & Millie Usher, Jr., one grandson Devin Usher, niece Sydni & Scott Boyd and their children Bailey and Tobin; and niece Joie Aldrich.
