Linda (Dombrowski) Edgell was born to Casey and Madge Dombrowski in Frederick, Oklahoma, on September 28, 1945, and died peacefully in her home after many years of battling her health issues on March 11, 2023.
Linda graduated from Frederick High School in 1963 where she played varsity basketball. On May 17, 1969, she married Frank Edgell who preceded her in death in 2006. She attended Texas Christian University where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta. She graduated from Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts in Chickasha with a BS in Business Education in January 1967 and earned a Master’s of Secondary Education from Central State University in 1989.
She began teaching school in January 1967. She taught school in Kansas, Florida, and Oklahoma. She was a teacher for the Oklahoma City Public Schools from 1973-2012. She was an active member of the Midwest Blvd. Christian Church from 1972 until the church closed in 2020. She was the General Board Secretary and Historian for several years, a member of the Lydia Guild, Sunday School Class, and served in other capacities. She was a volunteer at the Mid Del Food Pantry from 1997-2014. She volunteered in various other places.
She enjoyed daily Bible readings and devotions and often took walks in the park until her health failed her. She was an early-to-bed and early-to-rise person. She often went to the MWC Sr. Center to exercise class or to eat where she had a host of wonderful friends who came by or called before her passing to share their love and respects.
She leaves behind two children, Franklin Ross Edgell and Amy Janine Coleman of Midwest City. Her two children were the greatest joy of her life. She had three beloved grandchildren, Codie Edgell, Kasie Edgell, and Elizabeth Edgell.
She is survived by her sister Peggy Porter of Oklahoma City and two younger brothers, John Casey Dombrowski of Frederick and Alan and Pat Dombrowski of Port Townsend, Wa. She was preceded in death by her sister Carol Jo Kitchen. She had a host of nieces and nephews including Kayla and Kenny Lemons, Kiley Kitchen, Rachel Robles, Michelle Wood, Caroline Dombrowski, and Alex Dombrowski. She also had several great nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing on Thursday, March 16, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bill Eisenhour Northeast and a celebration of life will also be held at Bill Eisenhour Northeast on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Kolb Cemetery in Spencer.
