Larry Glen Watson passed away on the evening of March 7, 2016 at the age of 74. Larry was born on August 29, 1941, in Oklahoma City. He graduated from Putnam City HS in 1959; served as police officer in Warr Acres for 8 years, then became deputy sheriff for Oklahoma County, where he remained for 42 years. He was a Ham Radio Operator, receiving his Technician License (Call Letter W5EIU) at the age of 12 (being the youngest in the state at that time for this accomplishment), later serving as President of the local chapter for several years. He was well known and respected throughout the state of Oklahoma and beyond. He received several commendations and trophies for saving lives during his service as a deputy sheriff. He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church of Bethany, OK. He was a devoted Christian, son, father; grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin. He is predeceased by his father, William Glen (Dagwood) Watson and his mother, Mozelle Kathleen (Posy) Lollar Watson. He is survived by his daughter Lori Knowles, granddaughter Madison, both of whom he adored, his sister Marion (Leecy) Moore, cousin/sister Donna Gayle King Absher, several nieces and nephews. He was well loved and will be missed by all his family and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, March 11, 2016 from 8:00a.m. – 8:00p.m. with family to greet friends from 6:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper.
