She was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on August 25, 1931 to parents Ansel and Lucile Challenner.
June graduated from Classen High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Phillips University. In her later years she furthered her education even more so by attended Phillips Theological Seminary where she received her Masters of Divinity.
June held a career in social work for the State of Oklahoma. Later in life she found a new passion as a Disciples of Christ Minister. June also served as a Chaplain for Mercy Hospital for many years.
June is survived by her sons, Steve Prewitt and wife Katie of Spring, TX, Wayne Prewitt and wife Sandy of Apache, OK; Grandchildren, Cameron Prewitt and wife Sarah of Guthrie, OK, Caleb Prewitt and wife Vanessa of Wanette, OK, Lyndsay (Prewitt) Head and husband Travis, of Apache, OK, Katelyn Prewitt of Edmond, OK; Great Grandchildren, Dakota Walters and wife Carsyn of Guthrie, OK, Khyan Prewitt, Kolton Prewitt, Daxon Prewitt, Shiloh Prewitt, Corbin Prewitt, Gauge Prewitt, Kristen Friend and husband Robert of Guthrie, OK, Elleni Head of Apache, OK, Jasper Head of Apache, OK; Great-Great Grandchildren, Beckam Walters, Ivy Friend, Lucas Friend.
A visitation for June will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 13313 North Kelley, Oklahoma City, OK 73131.
A funeral service will occur Friday, December 30, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Crown Heights Christian Church, 4020 N Western Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73118.
Serving as pallbearers are Cameron Prewitt, Caleb Prewitt, Travis Head, Dakota Walters, Khyan Prewitt, Kolton Prewitt and Daxon Prewitt.
