She joined Macedonia Baptist Church and was baptized at an early age. She graduated from Dunbar High School in Watonga and later moved to Oklahoma City where she graduated from Draughon School of Business. She retired from the Oklahoma Corporation Commission in 1997.
Juanita united with Neighborhood Missionary Baptist Church where she was secretary of the Sunday School, member of the door-to-door witnessing team, member of the hospital visitation and nursing home visitation. She remained a faithful member until her health failed.
Juanita went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, October 5, at the age of 90.
In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leroy Riggins and Wenford Parker; two sisters, Geraldine Russell and Marie Teat.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory three sisters, Jeanne Collins of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Sandra Butler and Connie Campbell of Lawton, OK; two special nieces, Sharon Gillespie of Ann Arbor, MI and Cheryl Washington of Salem, NJ; sister-in-law, Willie Mae Parker; a god-daughter, Allison Brown of Oceanside, CA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Juanita will be remembered as a loving sister, aunt and friend.
A memorial service for Juanita will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Neighborhood Missionary Baptist Church, 977 N. Douglas Blvd., Midwest City, OK 73130.
