Josephine Steinert died January 12, 2014 at age 100. She was born October 18, 1913 to George and Mary (Wagner) Steinert at Shattuck Oklahoma. She attended public school in a one room schoolhouse and high school at the Seventh Day Adventist school in Shattuck. In 1934 she moved to California to help care for relatives. She returned to Oklahoma and went to work at the C. R. Anthony Company in Woodward. She worked for five years in Woodward. In the early 1940's Mr. C. R. offered Jo a job in the General Office where she worked for 35 years as manager of the cash journals. When she came to Oklahoma City the company had 68 stores. When she retired there were over 320 Anthony's stores. Jo loved her work, that was her life. She not only loved her work, she loved the C. R. Anthony family. In an age where most people have multiple employers, Jo was fortunate to work for one company her entire career. Jo was preceded in death by eight half siblings: August, Olivian, Harry and Lydia Steinert, Rebecca Phillipi, Otilla Erlich, Olivia Pope and Lillie Berg; brother George Steinert, sisters Eloreen Siebenlist, Naomi Wilcher, and Loretta Robinson; nephew Barry Siebenlist nieces Nancy Siano and Lana Reisinger. She is survived by nephews Bud Siebenlist and wife Debra, Don Siebenlist, Dick Siebenlist, Lou Siebenlist and wife Nancy, John Steinert and wife Lynnis; nieces Donna Brown and husband Les, Wally Haub and husband Bob and Mary Pylman and husband Greg and many great nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to Debra Jo, Linda and Lajuana of Laura Lynn's Home Health Care and Donna from Hospice of Oklahoma County for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to a charity of the donor's choice.
