Born on August 21st, 1945, in Wheatland, WY, Joice Thompson was the child of Dean Leon TePoel and Ardenia Marie Maston TePoel Gilbert. A proud graduate of Laramie High School, returning to education much later to earn an accounting degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
Shortly after high school, she married her life’s companion, Wayne Hardie Thompson, with whom she shared many adventures and an enduring love of nearly 40 years at his passing.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth, as evidenced by her surviving family: her two devoted sons and their families, two of her four brothers, a life partner, and a host of friends who felt like family.
Those who knew Joice Thompson will forever treasure memories of her exquisite baking, her boundless compassion, her infectious smile, her love of family, and her adoration for Jesus.
She will be lovingly remembered by her brothers, Louis TePoel and Dana TePoel; her sons, Dean (and spouse Devonna) and Myron (and spouse Amy); grandchildren Nela Hartsock (and spouse James), Jade Thompson (and fiancé Jack), Bradley Thompson, Isaac Thompson, and Lilianna Thompson; great grandchildren Hannah Hartsock and Gracie Hartsock; and life partner Gary Kelley.
Her spirit and joy will continue to inspire all who knew her, as she remains forever in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held Monday, December 2, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Directors.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to K-LOVE or to the American Heart Association.
