John was boxer growing up and told many stories of a “good fight”. He graduated from Cooked Oak High School in Oklahoma City and joined the Air Force where he served as a mechanic during Vietnam. John retired from the Oklahoman where he worked for nearly 40 years in pre-production. He loved golf, cars, movies and going out to eat. John loved his family and wanted them to be happy and taken care of. His life was his girls and his grandkids, who is was so proud of.
John was preceded in death by his Parents; Johnny and Helen Salazar, Step-Mom; Vicki Salazar, Brother; Terry Salazar, and Uncle; Pete Salazar.
He is survived by his Daughters: Gayla Granstron and Husband Robbie, Melody Dankenbring and Husband Chico, Elania Talbert and Significant Other Brady Dexter, and Catherine Trennepohl and Husband John, Grandchildren; Bryce, Tyler, Christina, Brandon, Cody, Karsen, Elliana, and Pacer, Great-Granchildren; Lincoln, Teagan, Jordynn, Mila, Garrison, and one on the way, Brother; David Salazar, Sister; Lupe Rendon and Husband Noe, Aunt; Jan Salazar, Cousin; Diane Strube, John’s Beloved Dog; Lilly and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Loved One’s, and Friends.
