John (Jack) Owen Evans Jr.

Jack went to be with the Lord after a short illness on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 to join his lifetime bride Marilyn Marie Smith Evans. John was a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. He attended Ohio State University along with his wife. After graduation, Mr. Evans worked for the General Electric Lamp division for over 25 years, which led to his family living in many different places, and finally landing in Oklahoma City. In 1979, Jack and Marilyn established a successful business, Light Bulb Supply in the Oklahoma City area. They were the proprietors of the business until their retirement in 1992.

John is preceded in death by his father John Owen Evans and mother Nettie Louise Reed Evans of Columbus, OH. This wonderful family man had one son and two daughters, Craig Owen Evans of Columbus, OH, Patricia Evans Kennedy of Oklahoma City, and Linda Cummings and her husband Robert of Highland Village, TX, his sister-in-law Donna Smith Reading of Greenville, N.C and his two wonderful grandsons Colin Robert Kennedy and Blaine Carson Kennedy both of Oklahoma City.

Jack will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him.

Services will be at 2:00 Saturday, December 13, at Hahn-Cook/Street and Draper Chapel with interment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park, Oklahoma City.
