John R. Holley, 76 year-old resident of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma, passed away on December 5, 2013 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born February 20, 1937 in Newellton, Louisiana, he was the son of William Edward Holley and Hattie (Johns) Holley. John was a retired auto mechanic who was very proud of his Cajun heritage. A former canteen manager at the V.F.W. he loved to hang out at the local V.F.W. Post. He loved his dogs; gardening and growing vegetables; fishing; telling stories; and going to Bell Cow Lake and Lake Eufaula. Survivors include 2 step-children, John and his wife Jennifer Greene of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Shary Ginn of Choctaw, Oklahoma; and 5 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73141. Burial will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, Oklahoma.
