John Patrick Hogan passed from his earthly life on March 23, 2021 in Norman, OK after spending his final days in the Norman Veteran’s Center for care. John was born in Macon, Georgia on September 16, 1948 to John Gwendle and Elizabeth Ann (McComb) Hogan.
Not long after graduating high school, John joined the U.S. Army and served during Vietnam. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he graduated college with a degree in accounting. John went on to work as Auditor for the Office of the Inspector General, Auditor for the Department of Energy and won multiple awards throughout his career.
John was not only successful in his business life but when it came to his personal life, the happiness his family brought him was unmatched. He was so proud of his three children and grandchildren and the fact that all three of his children went on to graduate college.
John was preceded in death by his parents; brother James Michael Hogan; and sister Barbara Jean Nowell.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Debra Kay Hogan; children Katherine Ann Williams and husband Aaron Kyle Williams of Springdale, AR, Kelly Marie Laughlin and husband Nathan Andrew Laughlin of Edmond, OK, John Brian Hogan and wife Christy Marie Hogan of Conway, AR; sister JoAnn (Hogan) Carpenter and husband John Carpenter of Choctaw, OK; brother-in-law Jerry Nowell; grandchildren Blake Williams, Berkley Williams, Ellison Williams, Bella Hogan, Lily Laughlin, Luke Laughlin, Jake Laughlin; nephews Shaun Hogan, Jeff Nowell; and nieces Kim Nowell Dismuke, and Shelly Nowell Huffman.
A memorial service to celebrate John's life will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 26, 2021 at Village Baptist Church, 10600 N. May Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73120
