JoAnn was born at Capitol Hill Hospital in Oklahoma City on June 14, 1944, to William and Anna Marie (Kusil) Robbins.
JoAnn grew up in Del City, Oklahoma. She was the youngest of 4 children, having 3 older brothers to keep her in line. She attended Del City High School and earned her GED. She later attended Rose State College in Del City.
She raised 4 children Danny, David, Lisa, and Laurie. Her kids were the joy of her life. She devoted her time taking care of them, playing games with them, and always had cookies ready for them when they got home from school.
While living in Del City in a small house which she had purchased by herself, she met her next-door neighbor who would not only become her best friend but ultimately change the direction of her life forever. The neighbor named Juanita befriended JoAnn and took her in like a daughter. Juanita introduced JoAnn and her children to the Del City Church of Christ where JoAnn was baptized September 15, 1965. From this point on JoAnn was dedicated and true follower of Jesus Christ and was always willing to share her faith with anyone that would listen. She was directly responsible for leading several people to Christ through baptism.
In January 1988 she met her husband, Tom Faust, while attending a Superbowl watch party. She was married to Tom on April 11, 1990, in Oklahoma City. Due to a tragic accident shortly after their marriage, they were blessed to be able to raise a granddaughter, Pandora Jo Peterson. JoAnn worked numerous jobs over her lifetime, including The Oklahoman, several attorney firms, and eventually retiring from the Putnam City School system where she worked as an administrative assistant for the Special Education department.
JoAnn always had a smile on her face with a passion for life and people, never meeting a stranger. She was an accomplished self-taught artist. She had numerous paintings hanging on the walls of her home that she had painted over the years. She especially enjoyed painting landscape scenes with dense forests and quiet running waters. Even though she worked outside the home for many years, her true love was her home, her art, her garden, her children, her husband, and most importantly her love of the church and Jesus Christ.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Earl, Bill, and Ted, and her oldest daughter Lisa. She is survived by her husband of 33 years Tom, her children Danny and wife Laurie of Midwest City, David and wife Nikko of San Antonio, Texas, Laurie and husband Kevin of Oklahoma City, and by eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, a cousin Ramona Wagner of Guthrie, and numerous nephews and nieces.
