She is survived by Mark, Carole and their three daughters Karissa, Sarah, and Rhiana; her son, Rob Boyles, his wife Satoko and their son Julian in Japan; her sister Patricia (Patty) Hall in Tahlequah, OK, and her children and grandchildren; her step children and step-grandchildren whom she loved as her own; and many other members of her extended family. Her family loves her and celebrates her life.
An Oklahoma City native, Jeannee found herself growing up in a neighborhood of mostly boys. Not daunted by that at all, she and Patty played Punch the Icebox, Hide ’n’ Seek, and blew up firecrackers in cans with them. She went to Gatewood Elementary, Taft Junior High School, Classen High School, and Mills College in Oakland, California, the University of Oklahoma, where she obtained a Bachelor ’s Degree in Education, and Central State University, where she obtained a Master ’s Degree in Education. She thoroughly enjoyed a long career in education as a teacher, curriculum consultant, vice principal and principal in the Oklahoma City public school system. After retirement she continued consulting for several years.
With the support of her family she was never one to give up, and faced her share of good and hard times resolutely. She was a careful planner and organizer. In fact, she predicted several years ago that this very event would happen, and started planning for it herself. She was a leader and placed high value on family, friendship, service, and care and concern for others. She unconditionally and wholeheartedly supported all her children. She spent several weeks with Mark and his family for the birth of their youngest, Rhiana, and several weeks with Rob and his family for the birth of their son, Julian. She never forgot a birthday or special occasion, and loved giving thoughtful gifts. She was a great cook, and loved parties, confessing that her social nature stemmed from her gadabout parents and their extensive families.
Jeannee’s hobbies included playing bridge and mahjong, singing, genealogy, scrapbooking with her sister Patty, more singing, gardening, reading, and more often than not, singing. She loved traveling, and visited her sister in Tahlequah, her son Rob and his family in Japan, and her son Mark and his family in Los Angeles often. She also visited Russia, Israel, and many other places abroad, her step children and relatives around the United States, and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her sister’s family at their timeshare in Arkansas.
Her Christian faith and service through her church were a central part of her life. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church for almost 50 years. She was a member of the choir and bell choir, and performed many solos at church services and other events. She also served as an elder. She is certainly looking forward to meeting her parents, family and friends who passed before her in heaven.
