Janice was born on November 4, 1944, in Mountain View, Oklahoma to parents George Wesley and Ruby Gertrude (Cox) Taylor.
Janice married the love of her life Clyde Schmidt and celebrated their sixtieth anniversary on June 6, 2024. During their marriage, they had two children, Cheryl and Leslie, whom they loved and adored dearly.
While raising her children as a working mom, she started her own bookkeeping business for truckers. She started that business in 1991 and it is still running today! Janice was dedicated to her job and loved the truckers. She showed her children how to be successful and to be passionate about your work. Janice had a lot of accomplishments in life but most importantly, she was proud of the family that she created.
As a mother, she taught her children the true meaning and importance of unconditional love. A perfect day for Janice would be hosting a family gathering, going out to the casino, and watching soap operas.
Though Janice has passed on, she will live on through the love and memories she has created with those she cherished.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents George Wesley and Ruby Gertrude Taylor, and her sister Dianna Marie Scarberry.
She is survived by her husband Clyde Schmidt, and their children Cheryl Denise and husband Craig Alan Swafford of Mustang, Oklahoma, and Leslie Dawn and husband Michael Anderson Caldwell of McLoud, Oklahoma, brothers Wesley “Jr” and wife Glenda Taylor of Carnegie, Oklahoma, and Danny and wife Louise Taylor of Cordell, Oklahoma, along with grandchildren Mason, Kirsten, and Kiley and 5 nieces and 10 nephews.
A graveside service will be held Friday, September 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 8701 NW Expressway, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73162.
