Jan Marie Fissel

Jan was born July 17, 1964 in Altus, Oklahoma, one of three children born to Harold William and Maryon Louise (Alley) Shaver.

Jan attended Yukon High School but without graduating she took off on a life of adventure, wanting to live life to the fullest and to be happy. Jan was a kind, loving person with administrative skill that came naturally without the benefit of a complete education.

Jan married Mike Fissel April 6, 2019, in an intimate ceremony at Boomer Lake in Stillwater, OK. Jan loved her husband so much. She was happiest when she was able to spend time with him, her family and her dogs. She could watch her dogs, Scrappy and Coco, laughing at them endlessly. Jan was at peace while sitting on the back porch watching the birds and listening to the wind chimes.

She is survived by her husband Mike Fissel of Stillwater, OK; son William Shaver of Helena, OK; granddaughter Marlee Shaver of Yukon, OK; parents Harold and Maryon Shaver of Mustang, OK; siblings Russell Shaver and wife Sheri of Blanchard, OK and Juliana Shriver and husband Rick of Yukon, OK; a great number of nieces and nephews and her fur-babies Scrappy and Coco, who were her constant companions.

Visitation will be Friday, July 1 from 6 pm – 8 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. A Celebration of Jan’s Life will be Saturday, July 2, at 10 am at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Jan will be cremated according to her wishes and buried in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
