James was born on March 25, 1971 in OKC to Larry and Valorea Ann (Vargas) Rickey. He grew up in the OKC metro area and was a graduate of Del City High School Class of 1989. James spent the last decade working as a cashier for the Chickasaw Nation at Newcastle and Riverwind Casino’s.
James was a loud and kind hearted guy who enjoyed collecting sports cards, going out to eat with friends and family, and taking road trips with his cousins. He loved to cheer on his Texas A&M Aggies and the Houston Oilers. He attended several different churches throughout his life and family was always his top priority. James was a funny guy with a quick wit that he often used to roast his siblings. James fought a long and difficult battle with his health but he rarely complained. He packed so many great memories into his short 48 years and he will truly be missed by all who knew him.
James was preceded in death by his father Larry Rickey; his maternal and paternal grandparents. He is survived by his mother Valorea Rickey; siblings: Randy Rickey and wife Wilma, Larry Rickey and wife Ruth Ann, Wesley Rickey and wife Allison, and Lindsay Daily and husband Lance.
