Imogene Maddie (Coble) Brummett, 85, of OKC passed from this life on January 25, 2020 with her loving family by her side. Services have been entrusted to the care of Advantage Funeral Service and a celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, January 29th at 12pm at Good News Church in Yukon with burial to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in OKC. A public visitation will be held on Tuesday from 12-8pm at the funeral home with the family greeting friends from 6-8pm.
Imogene was born on September 5, 1934 in Keota, OK to Bud and Doshie (Williams) Coble. She was raised and attended school in Keota. Shortly after graduation she relocated to Tulsa where she met the love of her life, Leroy Brummett. They married in 1952 and spent nearly 65 years together before Leroy’s passing in 2017.
During the course of her life, Imogene worked for Oral Roberts Evangelistic Center, as a realtor, and preparing taxes. In the early 1980’s the family relocated to OKC where she assisted Leroy in operating his successful insurance agency.
Imogene’s faith was the cornerstone of her life and she was a longtime member of The Rock and Bethesda Assembly of God. Family was important to her and she always made them a priority. Imogene was a quiet and reserved woman. She selflessly put others first and always made sure her family and friends were well fed. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, doing craft projects and decorating her home. Nothing made her happier than being with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.
Imogene was preceded in death by her parents Bud and Doshie Coble, husband and soulmate Leroy Brummett, and a grandson Daniel Wolfe. She is survived by two daughters: Vickey Jean Cannady of OKC and Teresa Lynn Wilson of Broken Arrow; five grandchildren: Laura Simmons Padberg, Edwin Isaac Cannady, Jim Fowler, Rick Fowler, and Daryn Fowler; a brother James (Tinker) Coble and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members.
Imogene wanted to express her thanks to the staff of Humanity Hospice, as well as her granddaughter Laura Padberg and her family for taking such great care of her over the past few months and years. Condolences may be sent to the family via an online guestbook at www.advantagesouth.com
