Glenda Jean Fisk entered heavens gates Oct. 30, 2020. She was born August 5, 1956 to Carl and Connie Fisk in Oklahoma City. Glenda was one of the first women in Oklahoma to climb under a makeshift home and pass a rigorous and physical termite exam to get her termite license and begin her own company, A-bate Termite & Pest Control, in the 70’s. She was also a manager for the Leukemia society for over a decade and was known for her fundraising skills. She attended Church of the Harvest for many years and loved Pastor Mike Shaeffer and his wife Starla.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Connie, her brothers, Jimmy Fisk, Sr. and Dwayne Fisk and beloved sisters Carol Thomas and Terry Fisk just 3 years ago. She leaves to cherish her memories: Uncle Dwayne Welch and daughter Kathy and Aunt Patty Welch, brother Carl Fisk, sister Linda Brust, brother-in law Joey Martinez, nieces and nephews Jimmy Fisk, Michael Crawford, Kimber Shafer and her husband Brian, Tina and her husband Robert, Michelle, Tony, David, Carlina, and Krissy. She loved her great nieces and nephews dearly, Kimber’s kids; Caleb, Megan, Brooke and Logan, and Jimmy’s kids; Jimmy Ray and Angel Harvey and her daughters Marlana and May.
She was deeply loved by her family and would drop everything to help when needed. When there was trouble or sickness, she was always there to assist, encourage and spread her Godly love and cheer.
Glenda and her sister Terry did everything BIG. Holidays and celebrations, each one seemingly bigger than the one before. The most important thing to Glenda was spending time with family and she spent weeks planning each event to perfection. Glenda always knew how to pick out the best and prettiest fireworks and the family 4th of July celebrations were something strangers would stop and watch.
She and her sister Terry, at the ages of 18 and 25, took in their nephew Mike and nieces Kimber and Tina to raise. Glenda was also a huge help and support system for her great nieces and nephews and played with them and planned fun activities every chance she could.
Glenda had an uncanny ability to truly listen and love on people. She helped those that are less fortunate and visited people in nursing homes and hospitals to bring them joy, even after her own stroke.
Glenda tried hard after losing Terry to continue to do all the things she and Terry loved to do together and run her Pest Control business, the Thrift Store and the Haunted House. Ultimately it was too much, and she had a massive stroke in October of 2018. Throughout her life she taught us a valuable lesson to be selfless and put others first and she went to be with Jesus knowing her family put their own lives on hold to care for her 24 hours a day for the past 2 years. We are thankful we could be there for her and share that legacy of love. This time on earth with Glenda has been a true blessing as her life shined bright for so many.
