Evelyn Landon Mauldin Olney entered into everlasting life with our Lord and Savior on July 16, 2012. Evelyn was born to Lula and James Mauldin on Oct. 1, 1926 in Cheek, Oklahoma. One year later, Evelyn and her family moved to Healdton, Oklahoma.
Upon graduation from High School, Evelyn moved to Oklahoma City to attend Business College. In 1948, she met and married Harold Olney, and together they nurtured three children. A longtime resident of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Evelyn was active in her church and taught the three-year-old Sunday School class for more than 30 years. She also served on the Social Committee and loved planning parties and receptions. She worked at Tinker Air Force Base before her children were born; later, she began working at the Election Polls and thoroughly enjoyed the long election days. Evelyn loved her family and she especially loved her grandchildren. She was fun and funny, and loved to play with her grandchildren when they were small. She baked and decorated numerous birthday cakes and was always there to help when needed. Family members greeting Evelyn in heaven include her parents, James and Lula Mauldin; her brothers, Claude Mauldin and wife Joyce; Calvin Mauldin; and Clinton Mauldin; and her son, David Eugene Olney. Evelyn is survived by her husband Harold Olney; her daughters Tresa Rogers and husband Kent; Lisa Gaskin and husband Scott; her son James Olney; her grandchildren, James Thomas and wife Amanda; Nathan Rogers; Johnathan Rogers; Christopher Rogers; and Kassady Gaskin. Evelyn was always young at heart. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Chapel, 8805 NE 23rd St., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, 73141 with burial following at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, Oklahoma.
