Eduardo Caudillo passed away peacefully at home on November 15th, 2024. Ed was born on November 17th, 1949, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Juan and Vicenta Caudillo. He was the youngest of five children. Ed attended Tonkawa Public Schools, graduating from Tonkawa High School in 1968.
After High school, Ed attended Oklahoma State Tech in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, graduating with a degree in drafting. He worked in Ponca City, Oklahoma, on the Kaw Dam project and for various engineering companies in Oklahoma City. Ed enjoyed driving his Honda 350 motorcycle, playing guitar, his 1969 Dodge Super Bee, and being with his family. He was a member of the US Army National Guard from 1971-1976, with an honorable discharge.
Ed met his love, Debbie Haskins, in 1970 while “dragging Grand”. He told his brother, Jesse, that he’s met a blonde that night, when in reality she was a brunette with a wig! Ed and Debbie were married July 7th, 1972, in Ponca City and made their home in Oklahoma City. They were blessed with three children, Carmen, Jason, and Megan. He enjoyed being “Coach Ed” for his children’s soccer games, as well as attending his grandkids’ games. He later enjoyed building 4’ scale model oil rigs, and attending oil and car shows.
Ed started Caudillo Marketing Group in 1979, selling promotional advertising products.
He attended Crossings Community Church in Oklahoma City until his health failed. One of Ed’s passions was witnessing to anyone and everyone about the saving grace of God. He would put church ink pens and business cards in beer cases, praying someone would get saved. His favorite scripture verse was John 3:16.
In 2007, Ed was blessed from a previous donor’s family with a liver transplant, that gave him 17 more years to witness and be with his family.
Ed is survived by his wife Debbie, of 52 years; daughter Carmen Caudillo (Rob Cowden), son Jason Caudillo (Melissa Castillo), and daughter Megan Horn (Patrick Horn); grandchildren Christian, Caleb, Conner, Evelyn, Aiden, Andrew, and Hudson; brothers Jesse and John, sister Estella; and brother in law, Larry Haskins (Sue); along with numerous friends. He is preceded in death by his parents , mother and father in law, and sister Aurelia Horrell.
A special thank you to the employees at Suncrest Hospice in Oklahoma City for their compassion and dedicated attention to Ed. Also, to the many doctors and staff at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, along with Crossings Community Church Pastoral Care Ministries. You will be missed but never forgotten! We love you daddy and grandpa and will see you again!
