Dorothy Ilene Weinstein, 96, a longtime resident of Oklahoma City, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2015, from natural causes. She was born on July 27, 1918, in Gould, Oklahoma, the daughter of Nageeba and Farris Massad. She was the fifth child of eight children. Her first husband, Frank Massad, had one child Sharon Massad. Her second husband, Gus El Kouri, had two children, Joe Mark and KoKo El Kouri. They had many restaurants and grocery stores that they successfully operated. He died from complications of cancer. Her third husband, Arthur Weinstein had twenty-eight wonderful years of marriage. Dorothy genuinely loved people, laughter, a natural love of design, fashion, and décor, and of course, staying involved with politics.
Survivors include Sharon Moody of the home, KoKo Sparks (both daughters); four grandchildren, Chance Sparks, Matthew Sparks, Brie Dorr and Lee Messing and six great grandchildren Ellington Dorr, Carter Sparks, Chloe Sparks, Kinsey Sparks, Joey Sparks and Lucille Messing and several nieces and nephews. Special Dallas family survivors include Lew and Dotty Weinstein, Jeff and Ava Weinstein, Brad, Keri, Brice, Gabe, Jill Weinstein, Lori and husband Grant Sandground, Ansley and Ari.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., at Spring Creek Baptist Church, 11701 N. MacArthur.
