Don Ervin Pierce (88 years old), died on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi and will be spending Christmas in heaven with his wife of 65 years, Peggie Pierce. He was born in Oklahoma City, OK on May 15, 1931.
Don graduated from Central High School (OKC) and married Peggie Harris in 1950. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War, stationed in Gulfport, MS and Anchorage, AK. Returning to OKC, Don & Peggie raised their family of 4 children, Donna, Mary Kaye, Danny and Julie.
For many years, Don was general manager of Phipps Appliance and their stores throughout the Oklahoma City area. He then became a Video Pioneer and opened Kaleidoscope Video, one of the first video rental stores in the USA. Don and Peggie enjoyed a full life. They traveled the world and loved visiting their children & grandchildren. On a fall Saturday afternoon, they could be found in Stillwater attending OSU football games. In the spring it was off to the horse races in Hot Springs, AR.
Don is survived by his sister Loreta L. Hunt (OKC), 2 sisters-in-law: Marti Harris (OKC) and LeNelle Pierce (Overland Park, KS), 3 children, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends who loved him dearly.
A Funeral Service to celebrate a life well lived will be held in Oklahoma City at Hahn-Cook Funeral Home, 6600 Broadway Extension, OKC on Thursday, December 19 at 10:00 a.m.
