On Thursday, December 15, 2022 Denise Rae (Johnson) Collins passed away at the age of sixty-four in Oklahoma City, OK. Denise was the daughter of Otis Ray and Margie “Marie” (Clemmer) Johnson born on February 18, 1958 in Oklahoma City, OK. She resided most of her life in South Oklahoma City but relocated to Seminole, OK in 1997 then Wewoka, OK in 2006.
Denise lived a simple life and never really wanted much. She did, however, have a keen knack for getting the things she really did want. Denise, much like her mother, was a homemaker who enjoyed reading romance novels and watching soap operas.
Prior to moving away from Oklahoma City, she spent her time helping her mother around the house with the occasional babysitting. Denise was incredibly laid back and accepted everyone for who they were. She also had a pretty good sense for people and tried to avoid people who put off bad vibes. Purple was her favorite color and unicorns were her favorite animal. Finding something with a unicorn and purple was one of her simple things that brought her much joy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Marie Johnson; her husband, Claude “Crash” Collins; their son, Eric Collins; and her brother, Jack Johnson.
She is survived by her son, Jessie Burns, III; sister, Louise Johnson; nephew, Jeff Johnson and wife Rebecca, and nieces Jennifer Wilson, Lisa Johnson, and Stephanie Freeman; and other relatives.
A graveside service for Denise will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 23, 2022 at the Arlington Memory Gardens Mausoleum, 3400 North Midwest Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73141.
