Deborah Ann (Youker) Burns was born on September 22, 1950 in Tulsa, OK to Raymond and Billye (Calles) Youker. She married Hadley Bowman in 1973 and they had two children, David and Thomas Bowman. She married Johnny Burns on May 12, 1990 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They had one daughter, Sophie Burns and she gained a daughter, K.C. (Burns) Ortega.
Debbi graduated from Putnam City High School and was Miss Teen Oklahoma and runner up for Miss Teen America. She received a degree in English Literature from the University of Oklahoma, and a Masters in Nursing from the University of Central Oklahoma. She worked as a nurse for many years and is remembered as a great medical air transport (MediFlight) nurse.
Debbi was an intelligent, curious and compassionate. She was a great cook, particularly of Greek and Cajun food, and a welcoming hostess - with many festive holiday and Mardi Gras parties at her and Johnny’s home.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Raymond and Billye Youker, husband, Johnny Burns, and aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is survived by her sons David Bowman, Thomas Bowman and Will Gentry; daughters Sophie Burns and K.C. Ortega; grandchildren Dalton, Olivia, Elliott, Marnie, Cayenne, Noba and Solomon; as well as her cousins James Seymour, Pam Doty, and Judy (Seymour) Eliot.
Memorials may be given to OMRF in her memory.
