Darrel Rex Smith of Choctaw, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at his home. He was born on December 10, 1940 at Grand Junction, CO. to Gene and Daisy Smith. Darrel grew up loving and enjoying the outdoors. He was an avid sportsman whose passions were fishing, hunting and enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. Darrel was well respected in the oilfield industry for his unmatched work ethic as well as his creative mind and mastery of his craft. He was always quick to lend a hand to those in need. Darrel always put family first and more than anything loved spending time with his family, mostly with his grandkids. He is survived by his wife Garnetta Smith; sons Mike Smith and wife Vicki, Duane Smith and wife Cathy, and Bud Smith; step-sons Danny Buck Jr. and wife Debbie, and Tony Buck; sister Joyce Dozier. He is also survived by his grandchildren Brad, Tyler, Brittni, Zac, Jacob, Megan, Lyllian, Denver and Joshua. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandsons Bryan Smith and Hunter Buck; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Graveside services will be at 11:00am, Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Elmwood Cemetery in Choctaw, OK. Viewing and visitation for family and friends will be from 4pm-8pm on Tuesday, and from 9am-8pm on Wednesday at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home.
