Danny Ray Dawson, 72, passed from this life on December 14, 2022 at the Sulphur Veterans Center where he lived and called his home for over 20 years. He was born on October 14, 1950 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Thomas James Dawson and Thelma Lillian (Cannon) Dawson. He attended Traub Elementary, Jarman Jr. High and Midwest City High School, and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His most treasured thing in life was his family. He could give you the history and dates back to his Great Grandparents up to his Great nephews and nieces.
Danny is survived by his brother, James F. Dawson and wife Roxanne of Choctaw, OK; nephews and nieces which are Kimberly Dawson (deceased), James Eric Dawson and his wife Kristin and their two daughters, Laney Kate and Josie Elise of Wylie, TX; Melissa Michelle Dawson and her son, Mason and daughter, Madison Michelle of Midwest City, OK; Kevin Ray Dawson and his wife Andrea, and their son, Andrew James and daughter, Grace Olivia of Nicoma Park, OK.
Danny loved his home at the Sulphur Veterans Center and all those who cared after him. His doctor, nurses, social worker, and staff went above and beyond the call of duty to see that Danny was well cared for, which is no less then what all the veterans receive at the center. They are to be commended for the fantastic and wonderful care they give our veterans, which gives us our freedom here in the USA! Thank you.
