Clara Louise McLaughlin, 95 year-old resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away February 2, 2017. She was born April 16, 1921 in Comanche, Oklahoma, to Bert F McLaughlin and Gertie (Holeman) McLaughlin Swanson. Her passions early in life were teaching and traveling; Louise received her Master’s degree in education and traveled all over the world. In her later years she stayed close to home and enjoyed feeding wild birds and watching late night news. Louise was fearlessly independent, much to the admiration and frustration of those that cared for and about her. She will be missed by many distant relatives and friends Coy L. Rea and Anna Lambert, Bonnie Mulkey, friend and fellow teacher Mrs. Patricia Hall and The Berry Family, Marie, Tommy and Billie Jean and others. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather Maney “Lee” Swanson. Visitation will be Sunday, February 5, 2017 from 1 pm to 5 pm, and February 6, 2017 from 8 am to 5 pm at Advantage South Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Duncan Cemetery, 1910 Cypress Ave, Duncan, OK 73533.
