Clara Myrtle Blair

Clara Blair, 93 year-old resident of Jones, OK, passed away August 15, 2015 in Harrah, Oklahoma. Born November 21, 1921 in Jenks, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Walter and Elsie (Richardson) Brown. Clara married Alfred Harmon in 1939. Together they served the Lord as Church planters with the Baptist Home Mission Board in Colorado and Oregon. They also held pastorates in Florida, Oklahoma, Kansas, and California. They served the Lord together until his death. In 1967 Clara married Archie Blair. They traveled the Western United States where Archie was a pipeline worker before settling in Jones, Oklahoma. Clara retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles, State of Oklahoma. She was a devoted Christian and longtime member of First Baptist Church in Jones where she taught Vacation Bible School and Sunday School for many years. She loved her Lord Jesus and never grew weary of telling others about Him. Clara was preceded in death by both her husbands; her parents; 2 brothers, Richard and Lee Brown; 1 step-son, Doyle Bowman; and 1 grandson, Lance Becker. She is survived by her daughter, Donna and her husband Jay Becker of Okeene, Oklahoma; 1 son, Archie and his wife Jan Blair of Jones, Oklahoma; 3 stepdaughters, Sandy Nichols; Janet Blair; and Arlene Greene; sister, Wanda Brown; brother, Kenneth Brown; 9 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; her loving caregiver, Shirley Barlow and a host of family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Jones, Oklahoma with graveside services to be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Blanchard Cemetery, Blanchard, Oklahoma.
