She was my baby sister and always called me out on my BS.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Brooklyn Kate Murphy Family.  The losing of Brooklyn is very hard to deal with.  How important it is to cherish the many happy memories that your family has shared together.   We don't know what to say.  We can't understand exactly how you feel, but God does and will keep raising you up.  We hope that our prayers will help a little.   Now, lets read a scripture that will help give your family the comfort and encouragement that they need.   It reads like this. " Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out."  John 5:28,29

I met Brooklyn my junior year it was my first year at Putnam City, we were part of the 4x4 relay team we called ourselves the Dream Team because we were just that good and had broken our school record. Brook could literally miss track practice for cheer practice and would come to a meet and drink her energy drink and go all out like she’s been training day and night for our races and she did it so effortlessly. I love tattoos and I would always asked her what hers meant because they were so cool to me she was such a fierce person I loved her energy, I’m gonna miss you Brook. To your family I’m so sorry for you guys loss and I will keep you all in prayer.

Brooklyn and I met in 3rd grade when I moved to Oklahoma. We instantly became best friends and were inseparable the rest of elementary school. One of the first memories that comes to mind is on our first day of school in 4th grade we volunteered to skip recess to help our teacher with anything  she would let us.  Even after I moved across the country I knew if I needed anything I could call her. Any time I would see her, no matter how long it had been, we were always able to pick right back up and crack jokes like no time had passed. She is the most beautiful person inside and out. I’ll love and miss you forever, Brooklyn.

I never had the privilege of meeting Brooklyn, but I have gotten to know Terry and Cathy and Ryan well over the past few years  I also know Ben. I am deeply saddened that you all have lost your youngest child and baby sister. I will continue to hold your family up in prayer. I share your faith and hope that Brooklyn is home now with the Lord. 

I will never fully understand why things happen the way they do. Brooklyn, your smile brightened up a room and your laugh was so contagious. I will forever be grateful for the laughs, sing alongs, walks around the neighborhood, trips, and cheering on the sidelines with you. Throughout our friendship you never hesitated to push me to do better, to never give up, and reminded me that I’m loved and cared for. Through tough times you continued to be a friend, to be encouraging and caring, I love you and I am truly grateful for the time I was allowed to have with you. You will be dearly missed and loved forever, Brooklyn. Rest In Peace beautiful ♥️

Brook where do I even begin, 

You have given me so many beautiful memories that I’ll now cherish forever. I’ll never forget the sound of your laugh or how we could just look at each other and know what we were thinking at the time. I loved all of our times flying through the air together or working together to keep our flyer safely in the air. I loved playing viola together in orchestra and pretending we weren’t lost when Mr. Waddell looked our way. I loved screaming our favorite rap song together in the car before games or singing along to Taylor Swift. I’ll never forget all of our inside jokes. I loved all of our times at sleepovers, birthdays, and the Popeyes runs before games. I loved all of our naps on various floors between practices, haha.   I knew from tryouts freshman year that you, Nia, and Jenna would be my forever best friends (5ever). 

You taught me to be fearless and to never give up. You gave me encouragement, strength, and endless laughs/smiles. You taught me determination. You taught me how to see the brighter side of things when times were tough. You taught me to believe in myself when no one else did, including myself. You were there through all the ups, downs, tears, laughs, etc. You helped me become who I am today through all those years together and I cannot thank you enough. 

This will never make sense to me. I don’t think this feeling of losing you will ever go away. Heaven gained such a beautiful soul. 
I would give anything to hug you one last time or hear you laugh. I hope you are at peace and can feel all the love everyone has for you.  This cannot be goodbye. I know we’ll meet again someday. Until then, watch over us sis. I love you, Brookie. Thank you. Thank you for everything. 


My heart aches for your sweet family.  I am so very sorry for this tremendous earthly  loss. I cannot imagine.  My mind cannot comprehend this.  I can only pray that you are comforted by knowing many  hearts grieve with you and are praying for you.  Your beautiful daughter is held tight in the arms of Jesus, and I know some very precious grandparents and an uncle that have been right there taking in all her beauty.  Heaven is not very far away. Soon and very soon. Love to all of you.  May God carry you through this as only He can.

Brooklyn was one of my all-time favorite students.  She was so smart, silly and goofy.  I took my students outside once to have a snowball fight.  Every time I turned around, Brooklyn was grinning at me and then would hit me right in the face. I saw her last when she was in high school. I hadn’t seen her in years. I looked at her and said, “You’re one of my children, aren’t you?”  She said, “You better remember who I am.”  I said, “I could never forget my angel Brooklyn” and I hugged her.  I will never forget her.

Brooklyn is a star. She held her self with kindness within every step. I am so glad I got the opportunity to cheer beside her in high school. She taught me the importance of laughter. Brooklyn will forever be the star in my heart.

I met Brooklyn in 6th grade, from the second I met her I knew she was different from everyone else (in the best way possible) and would always hold a very special place in my heart. We were attached at the hip for what felt like a lifetime. I hold the endless memories we have together so close to my heart, our friendship was unlike any others. We matched each other's weirdness on so many levels and that was so hard for both of us to find because honestly, we were some very strange kids! We went so many years where the longest we were apart from each other was a couple days unless one of us was traveling. We got to the point where if we were apart for longer than a couple days we just couldn't do it. I'll never meet someone like my Brooktin and that's a fact. I miss everything about her. I'm so thankful for her  family putting up with us so well even when we probably didn't deserve it. I love you so much Brook, you'll be my bestfriend forever.

Brooklyn I’m gonna miss you and will always remember you especially since you gave me my first/final cheer initiation with an eye scar, we both laughed while you iced my eye.

I met Brooklyn through our mutual friends when she came in our group for PCN’s Fall Ball senior year. She was always so genuine and sweet every time we were around each other. I will miss seeing her at our gatherings but I know she will be with all of us in spirit. 

I remember Brooklyn fondly as a happy, go-lucky student and athlete at Putnam City High School. I never had her as a student but she always seemed to have a smile on and always seemed to be kind and pleasant to be around. Everyone seemed to enjoy being around her. I know she will be missed by many of her former classmates as well as teacher and coaches. Sorry for your loss.

I will never fully be able to put into words the impact that you had on me and in my life.  I never could have guessed that through working at chili’s; that I would meet someone so incredibly special, kind hearted, naturally hilarious, honest and true. You are THE most genuine person i have ever known. We became so incredibly close so fast, and you became such an important part of my life for so long. I miss seeing you every day. I miss hearing your laugh. I miss all of our crazy adventures, and late night food expeditions. And ranting about our tables together when we would get stressed with work. I miss going out of our way just to see each other every single day. The love you radiate for the people you care about is unlike anything i can explain. I love you forever brooklyn. thank you for being my friend. thank you for getting to know me. and thank you for letting me know you. Thank you for coming into my life when i needed someone just like you the most. My deepest condolences go out to your family. Hi I just wanted to express my deepest sympathy and condolences for your family my son Johnny was very close  to Brooklyn 

I don't have the words to fully express just how sorry we are to hear about this loss. Our family extends our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to your family and all of her friends and loved ones.  She had the most incredible spirit and it was often felt by those around her. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and being around her at one point in time or another. I truly thank her for loving  so unconditionally and for being the confidant when nothing else seemed possible. We pray that you all are comforted during this most difficult time, and that God will provide you with healing and understanding with something that doesn't seem to make much sense right now.   

I've only met Brook once at a singing competition.  But her light shined so bright that day. I was super nervous but, she gave me confidence in her words. And her smile gave me motivation to not stop. She sent me some amazing photos she snuck of me that night lol and also words of encouragement after everything was over. Brook was a pure soul who, you could tell from meeting her, could make friends with anyone. Her presence will be deeply missed. 

Brooklyn was my first friend in elementary school and as kids, we would talk about the future and everything we would do together. She taught me patience and how to play piano, she even got me into cheerleading. She will always be in my heart everywhere i go and i will always have those great memories of us having no care or worry in the world. Me and my family are praying for you guys to be able to continue in her memory and to be able to cherish the time she was here.

I don’t typically get along with people right when I meet them and it takes me awhile to warm up, but I remember when I first met Brooklyn we hit it off instantly. She was one of my best friends in high school when me, Alex Powell, and Sidney Bailey formed a close knit friend group. There was no thought too weird or no joke too dumb with Brooklyn and we could always pick up right where we left off when time went by. Although we didn’t talk all the time, I knew that I could always call on her and it hurts that this is no longer true. I’ll cherish the memories we have forever and I’ll miss her so much

I don’t know where to begin. I can’t believe that you are gone but I want to say thank you for being such a beautiful soul in and out Brooklyn you honestly made my day during cheer practice even though I had surgery during the time of cheer you always made my day with just being your goofy self. I’ll always and forever be grateful for you being in  my middle & high school years. We will miss you Brooklyn. 

no words can example how much i truly adored Brooklyn . I always admired her skills and her drive during our time cheering together . I have great memories that i will always cherish. I am keeping you all in my prayers. 

Where do I begin, I have known Brooklyn since pre-K and she has always been such a great friend. Whether we were close in certain points in our lives or not, we’d act like nothing had changed whenever we would get a chance to catch up. I wish I had gotten the chance to teach you how to ride a motorcycle like you had asked. There’s a lot of “I wishes” but this isn’t the easiest to write. I’m lost at words but rest easy friend. After Spending these last 6 years with you, talking to you every single day.. I’ve learned a lot from you. I was confused, lost, and going down the wrong path yet you pulled me from it. You took a chance with me & had no reason to. Plenty of mistakes, plenty of memories.  All you wanted for me is to be better, to be as great as you saw me to be.  At first I didn’t understand why you challenged me,  little did I know you were helping build me.  You always knew when something was bothering me, Every time I would try to make it about you, yet  You would just keep pushing and keep on smiling and make sure I was good.. i tried my best to get you through it.  I felt like we were all so close to pulling you out..  as always, you’re one step ahead. You had a impact on my life since day 1, I watched you grow up. I watched you become an adult. I spent countless nights in a damn car with you crying/laughing/holding you. I kept telling you this time it’s time for me to give back to you.. I ran out of time. this chapter is left unwritten, but I will always feel your presence around. I would not be here without You, you prevented a lot from happening to me. & I was so close to preventing this from you.

I am so sorry for your loss of your precious Brooklyn. She was in my gifted and talented class for 4 years at Northridge and was always a favorite. For a child who had skipped a grade she didn’t have maturation issues and fit in with her classmates so well. One assignment she had was to design a board game based on one of the American history topics the students studied in their regular 5th grade classrooms. Brooklyn chose American explorers. The game she created was so well designed, beautifully made, and, most important to the other kids, very fun.  She let me borrow it the following year to inspire my new crop of game makers. 
      Again, I am so very sorry for the loss of your sweet Brooklyn. 

Brooklyn and I have known each other since middle school and throughout the hole time we grew up it was never a dull moment. All our time we spent todgether was always filled with laughter. Watch over all of us until our days come to be reunited 

I have known Brooklyn since elementary. We were good friends in middle school. Some of my favorite memories are with her in orchestra and having sleepovers. My first time to ever go to Fright Night was with her for her birthday. She was such a sweet friend and always made me laugh. I am so honored to have known her. Brooklyn was so strong, intelligent, and beautiful inside and out. She will be dearly missed.

Brooklyn was the only friend that showed up to my birthday party when I turned 7/8. She got me a makeup set that was a mini vanity, and it came with blue and pink eyeshadow and dark red lipsticks. We disconnected when I moved away, but I've always remembered her for this. She was a good friend, and a good person.

I met Brooklyn when I was 14 through our mutual friend Alex Powell. I will always remember how kind and compassionate Brooklyn was. She was the type of person that always went with the flow and if Brooklyn was there, you knew you would have a good time. She was always there for people, you could go without speaking to her for a long time and if you texted or called her she would pick up. Brooklyn is the most outgoing person I know, we were playing Jenga with friends last week and we were doing dares while we played, one dare was to get up and go talk to someone random on that patio, Brooklyn was the first person to stand up and do it. She just had such a great personality. She is loved by so many and she will be missed dearly. 

Brooklyn and I have always been friends since we met in middle school at Cooper. It wasn’t until freshman year of college at OSU whenever she became one of my best friends. That first semester I would just walk into her dorm room to hang out with her and watch movies, eat good food, talk, or even just sleep. I was so sad whenever she left but she always came back to visit :-) The last time she visited back in December she ended up staying for about 5 days and it just took me back to the good old freshman days with her. I will always and forever cherish the laughs, talks, weird voices and dance moves, and honestly just her presence. She was a great friend and an even better person. I love you forever, Brook. 

This was our sophomore year during a cheer practice and as you can tell from the picture we were always doing something goofy. 

Brooklyn was always laughing or trying to make someone laugh or cheer them up. I miss you. Thanks Brookie for changing my life and so many others. I love you elbow buddy

I went to school with Brooklyn for a very long time.  Talked very often had the same friends. I was use to seeing her almost everyday. She was so sweet and had the best humor that girl was hilarious. One of my favorite memories was when we were in the hallway by the cafeteria talking about her new tattoo on her back that she was so proud of. She told me she had designed it. then we talked on and on. I think we both might have been ditching class or we were late haha gotta love high schoolers. We are all going to miss her very much. She will forever be in our hearts. ❤️ 

I met Brooklyn in Mr.Alba’s class  in first grade. We were pretty much always together in that class.  I consider her my first best friend. Although we grew apart,  we still remained friends throughout the years. We grew up together, elementary, middle school, and high school. We reconnected when she joined track and let me tell you, she was literally our missing link. We won so many races when she joined the 4x4. Back to back conference champions 2016 & 2017. she was so good effortlessly it wasn’t even fair sometimes. I’ll always remember how smart she was. When she got a 30 on her ACT I was sooo excited for her. She could do anything she set her mind to. Coach Wright would say she couldn’t do something and she proved him wrong every time.  I think that was his plan all along though. Brooklyn was so such a beautiful person and I am sooo deeply sorry for your loss. I pray for your strength, healing and peace everyday. This was our senior year of high school. We were so excited to find out we made it to the state meet! She was a star and she will be missed. 

On my 14th birthday Brooklyn got down on 1 knee to gift me with a $20 bill 🤣 About 2 years later we decided to make it official at the Cancer Carnival “marriage” booth. 🤣🤣 We could never stop laughing about how silly these moments were. I will cherish these moments forever ❤️
