Bret Dewayne Bond, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on December 2, 2024, in Oklahoma City at the age of 57. Born on July 6, 1967, in Midwest City, Oklahoma to Curtis L. Bond and Dorothey J. Chadwick (both deceased), Bret was a vibrant spirit whose creativity and kindness touched everyone he met.
From an early age, Bret exhibited an extraordinary talent for art that set him apart from his peers. His freehand creations were not just expressions of skill but reflections of his boundless imagination—a gift that brought joy to many who had the privilege of witnessing it. Bret's work resonated with authenticity and passion.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, Bret had a profound love for music that filled his life with rhythm and harmony. He found solace in melodies and often shared this passion with friends and family alike—his laughter echoing through gatherings as he introduced them to new tunes or reminisced about old favorites.
Bret’s heart was as big as his talents; he never met a stranger and always extended a helping hand whenever possible. His genuine compassion made him someone people could rely on during their toughest times—a true testament to the goodness within him.
He is survived by his sister Dawn R. Olivera; niece Amanda J.M Bennett; nephew Ryan T. Ward; ten great-nieces and nephews: Iridian Bennett, Holly Bennett, Joshua "Jr" Bennett, Emily Bennett, Journey Bennett, Courtney Bennett, Harley Bennett Danielle Ward Brayden Ward ,and Lillian Ward; Uncle Gordon Chadwick (Sharridan); Aunts Sheryl Lambe and Nita Arnold (Richard); cousins Jimmy Tidmore (Debbie) along with Carla Lambe (Randall Link) & families; Michael Chadwick, Robert Chadwick and Stephanie Chadwick, Karen and Amy Chadwick & families, as well as numerous extended family members who cherished him deeply.
Bret joins those who have gone before him: father Curtis L. Bond in 2023; mother Dorothey J. Cotner in 2007; brother Curtis L. Bond in 77 ; along with both maternal and paternal grandparents ; 1 uncle Eddy Chadwick ; 2 cousins Robert Chadwick and Kimberly Starnes—all waiting for him beyond this world.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday December 14th at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home NE in Oklahoma City at 1:00 PM where all are welcome to share memories honoring the remarkable man we lost too soon.
Though Bret has departed from our sight physically—the legacy of love he leaves behind will forever remain etched into our hearts—reminding us daily how precious life is when lived fully through creativity kindness friendship—and above all else—love.
