Bonnie was raised in Holdenville and graduated from Moss High School in 1956. She married Joseph Jones and had two children, Lisa and Randy.
Later in life, Bonnie received her Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies from the University of Oklahoma. She worked at the State Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped her entire career before retiring in 2001. She thoroughly enjoyed working at the library and genuinely treasured her co-workers.
Bonnie was an avid photographer, always capturing the special moments of her family and friends. On a trip to Maine with her son driving, she was so committed to capturing the Smokey Mountains she wanted to stop at every scenic turnout to take pictures. After a while her son said if she wanted to continue shooting she would have to do so through the car’s sunroof. Needless to say, many photos of the mountains were captured exactly that way. She also loved to travel and was fortunate to have friends join her on many of her trips as well as having as friends to visit in other countries.
Bonnie was a voracious reader and spent much of her life writing poems, short stories, and her memoirs, and researching and documenting her ancestry.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Lisa; her son, Randy and his wife, Pam, and their two children, Cory and Katie; her sister, Bobbie Carlton and her husband, Ron, and their daughter, Kim. She was preceded in death by her mother, Alna Anthony; father, Samuel Harrison; and brother, William Harrison.
