Betty Fay Scott was born on November 14th, 1947. The third child of Marcellus “Mark,” and Lona Faye Millen. Betty was born in Winfield, KS, growing up on the Millen family farm until she attended Nursing School in Kansas City, KS. After a night cruising around with a friend, she met and fell in love with husband Glen Scott in 1972, to whom she remained married to until he passed away in 2016. She continued nursing and helping others for decades during this time, never losing interest in learning.
Betty was a voracious reader her entire life and had an immense thirst for all knowledge. At any given time talking with Betty, well, good luck changing a subject she was passionate about! Betty was always unapologetically “Betty”, and we wouldn’t have had her any other way.
Just prior to Betty’s passing, she was embarking on a new life journey, moving into a retirement community. She was looking at the event calendar daily, getting things for her new place, and ready to start this chapter of her life. She was constantly telling everyone/anyone how excited she was for this life transition. She passed happy and excited about her future.
She is survived by her sister Martha Wyckoff (Millen) and her husband Jim Wyckoff, her sister Mary Millen, her Daughters Tami Fidler (Scott) and husband Jeff Fidler, Jamie Brooks (Scott) and her Husband Phil Brooks, and her son Mark Tymitz-Scott, and his wife Lori Scott-Tymitz. Let us not forget the foremost treasures in her life - her grandchildren; Raleigh, Zane, and Rory Fidler and her additional grandchild Maxwell Rivera.
Betty loved her family more than anything and was spending as much time as she could with her children and grandchildren. She lit up every time she talked about her family to anyone, always excited to share about her loved ones. Her presence will be truly missed.
A memorial service for Betty will be held Friday, December 8, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 13313 North Kelley, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
