Betty Joyce Rose was born on March 25, 1934 in Davis, Oklahoma to caring parents Jesse Frank James and Della Letha (Sewell) James. She passed peacefully March 21, 2024, right before her 90th birthday.
Betty graduated from Davis High School before moving to Oklahoma City, where she would find the love of her life. In November of 1960, she married Thomas James Rose. The couple shared 53 years in love together before Thomas’ passing in 2013.
Betty worked at Southwestern Bell for several years, but decided it was time for a change of careers. She had a successful career and worked at the bank as an Accounting Clerk until she retired. Betty was an astute banker, and that made her very proud.
A perfect day for Betty was a big Christmas gathering, to see all of her loved ones and share good times with. She loved to make toilet paper jokes and always had a smile on her face.
Betty was a very loving mother, grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt and friend. She taught her children the importance of personal finances, bookkeeping and one of the most important rules, to always be kind. Betty was also a faithful member of Portland Avenue Baptist Church.
Betty and Thomas are finally reunited in heaven.
Betty will live on through the love and cherished memories she has created with her 2 children; David Kent Rose and wife Janet Rose of Mcloud, OK, and Dana Michelle Segar of Charlotte, NC, brothers; Glen James, Jesse Frank James Jr., Floyd James, Billy James, her twin brother Bobbie James, sisters; Beatrice Allmon, Kathryn Foster, and Geneva Herndon, and grandchildren Dustin, Danielle, Autumn, Brooks, Robert, and Rebecca, and her 8 great-great grandchildren.
