Betty was born May 7, 1927 in Oklahoma City to Lester and Grace Fitzgerald.
In December of 1946, she met the love of her life, William Miller, Jr, on a blind date at the Kentucky Avenue Baptist Church. They married just seven weeks later on February 26, 1947, and spent nearly 60 years together.
Betty enjoyed spending winters in Rockport, TX with the love of her life and friends. Betty worked at the Wilson’s Meat Packing Plant for 20 years. She also loved spending summers at the lake house, gardening and entertaining her grandchildren. Betty was a talented seamstress who created clothing for her grandchildren. She was active at her church, Cherokee Hills Baptist Church, with the senior choir. Betty was involved with the Hospital visitation ministry, until she was no longer physically able.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Miller, Jr, granddaughter, Melissa Bentley and great granddaughter, Emily Bryan.
She is survived by her sister, Louise Kerr, OKC; Daughters, Judy Rucker, OKC and Connie Bryan (Edward), Goodwell, OK; granddaughters, April Sanchez (Jo=hn), OKC, Krista Johnson (Attica), Florida, and Heather Emerson (Brandon), Piedmont, OK; grandson, Jeff Bryan (Veneisa), Guymon, OK; great grandchildren; Sierra & Cheyenne Sanchez, Luke Bryan, Selah & Whitley Bentley, and Gavin & Jay Emerson and Brayden Chang.
Memories of her will be cherished and she will be deeply missed.
