On June 13, 2024 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Betty Ruth Kauer entered into eternal life surrounded by her family. Betty was born on November 24, 1936 in Salinas, California to her parents Elbert Hawkins Cave and Ethyl Eunice (Fickling) Cave Mallory. Of thirteen children, Betty was the third born in to the family.
Betty experienced life in so many places like California, Oregon, Arizona, Texas, but she would spent the most of her life in Oklahoma. Betty accomplished so much during her life. She was the founding president of the Oklahoma/Arizona Division of the Professional Secretaries Association, and was a member of the Descendants of Mayflower Association and Christ’s Legacy Church.
Betty enjoyed spending her time getting coffee, going to bible study, and tending to her flowers. She loved listening to Southern Gospel music and laughter from babies, and she would always crack a smile a funny one-liner puns. Nevertheless, she loved spending time with her family most of all. Betty was always sharing with her loved one’s valuable life experiences and lessons when it came to having a good work ethic, logic, the art of debating, how to strive for excellence, and love. When it came to love, Betty gave it to three major keystones in her life, God, Family, and our country. She strived to be a person who loved deeply and live a life of Godly excellence.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Elbert Hawkins Cave and Ethyl Eunice (Fickling) Cave Mallory. She is survived by her spouse, Les Kauer; her children Darrin Doyl McDaniel and spouse Chrystal Kelley- McDaniel of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Sharlet Balcom of Muskogee, Oklahoma; David Kauer of ; and Julie Lambert of Edmond, Oklahoma; Her seven grandchildren D.J. McDaniel, Brittney Korstjens, Christian Vance, Gage Lambert, Taylor Lambert, Dawn Knupp, and Heather Phipps; Eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Betty will be held Monday, June 17, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Great Faith Church, 8921 NW Expressway Suite 500, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73162.
